Utthan-capacitated Paani Samiti member, Bhartiben was honored for her extraordinary leadership in Dungri village of Bharuch, where she empowered rural women to become technical stewards of their water landscape. She spearheaded a shift from women being passive beneficiaries to becoming active managers who now lead Pani Samitis with over 60% women's representation.Bharati stood out for the ability to bridge last-mile implementation and community behaviour gaps, despite persistent patriarchal ceilings which she broke for better sanitation and water in her village.
