Dr. Alka Parikh  is a Development Economist with expertise in Development and Agricultural Economics and a keen interest in people centered development. She holds a PhD from Cornell University, USA and is a gold medalist in Economics from Mumbai University. The Founding Director of Centre for Field Learning, she has served as the Dean, Research at Amity University, Mumbai and Dean, School of Liberal Arts at Bennett University, Noida. She has taught and held leadership roles at several institutes, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy and Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology. Her research focuses on rural development, agriculture, poverty, employment, and food and water security and she has published extensively. Her long-standing commitment to inclusive development is reflected in her support and association with NGOs, namely Utthan & Pune based, Uplift Mutuals.
