A Garden of Hope: Rehmatben’s Rooftop Kitchen Garden

In this inspiring story, Rehmatben, a 40-year-old woman from Konjdi village, Mahuva block (Bhavnagar district), shares her journey of creating a kitchen garden on her rooftop, despite not having access to land. Supported by Utthan’s training, she transformed her roof into a productive space that now provides vegetables for multiple families. Once mocked by neighbours, Rehmatben’s rooftop garden is now admired by many — a true garden of hope, resilience, and self-reliance.
