Partnership with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Indi

Strengthening livelihoods of De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Communities

Utthan has joined hands with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC) and the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC), to implement the SEED Scheme across Gujarat. The initiative supports the economic empowerment of 4,500 women from DNT/NT/SNT communities in Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Gir-Somnath. By organizing 300 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the program creates platforms for savings, credit access, skill-building, and rights awareness. Through trust-building and financial inclusion, the project is helping women move toward long-term stability and community leadership.

This partnership marks a significant step in advancing equity, dignity, and self-reliance for historically excluded communities.
