Women Lead Livelihoods Across Gujarat
From the fields of Panchmahal to the training rooms of Valia, women are taking the lead in building sustainable futures. In Morva Hadaf, 500 farmers received hands-on training in natural farming and land rights under the Empower Her Harvest initiative. Meanwhile in Valia, women explored new income opportunities through WASH-linked sewing classes—launched after a learning visit to a stitching factory in Ahmedabad. With community-led training and collective learning, rural women are stepping into roles as farmers, earners, and changemakers.
Seeds of Sustainability and Inclusion
Utthan’s summer quarter also marked major milestones in climate action and social equity. Along Gujarat’s coastline, over 100 fisherfolk began training in seaweed farming, laying the groundwork for green livelihoods in Mahuva. In Vadodara, 1,200+ saplings were planted at the CISF campus through a collaborative plantation drive with Grow Billion Trees and FICCI FLO. And in a landmark move, Utthan partnered with the Government of India under the SEED scheme to support 4,500 women from De-notified and Nomadic Tribes through financial inclusion and self-help groups.
